Hey, I'm sure some of you have already scoped out the best place to order guitar strings by the case. Share with Titan??
Thanks,
Peace-titan

I use a lot of different instruments and though they don't have everything, juststrings.com is the best overall from my experience.

STRING IT UP.COM

http://www.stringitup.com/

This guy rocks. Great contact, a bit cheaper that the above, and free shipping on orders over 35.00. I just got some Strings from him. 2-3 day shipping and very nice to deal with.

What gives?!?!?!

You know........

Go to www.webstrings.com and quite goofin around!!

Seriously! I use them religiously....for electric, acoustic and bass.....love em. And I think you'll be more than happy with the prices too, fellaz. Especially if yer buyin in bulk (6 to 12 sets).

Check out their wallpapers while you're there, too!

webstrings? Tried 'em. They reminded me of Black Diamonds or Bell Brand or even Criterian. Wait, I take that back, nothing was as bad as Criterians, they did give you eight though.

No bad, but I prefer a little better string also.

About every other month, Guitar center has some insane loss-leader sale on strings by the box. I get mine whenever this happens. Usually the strings are decent quality midrange brands for under $2 a set. GHS, Danelectro, whatever. I have a lot of guitars so I go through a lot of strings.

If you can beat that online, I'd like to hear about it.

ok.........

......fair enough. But I have to admit I AM curious as to what constitutes a "better" string.

I mean, considering that all major string brands are made in the same 3 or 4 plants. I am a person who has tried everything and used to buy boxes of D'Addario and Ernie Ball until I came across these. I am certainly no cheapskate eaither so that wasn't the case. The fact is i found these strings to hold their tone and last longer than Ernie Balls and D Addario. Ernies and D's start out great and bright and dull out in a half hour....not to mention D's break within a week of any real plying. They are pure nickel....how bad does it get? I've never gotten a bad set.

Unless you're looking for stuff like Pyramid, in which case asking for cheap is ridiculous.

Cool enough.

One of the things I'm looking at is how hard the strings are.

The newer strings with "longer life" are harder alloys much tougher on fretwear in the case of the unwound strings, as many people have noted.

I can't take that tradeoff.

I'm not sure if that was a reply to me.....but PURE NICKEL is not a hard alloy. Actually the other strings I said I NO LONGER use have harder alloys....D'addario in particular.

When I say longer life, what I mean is....strings like D'addario tend to use steel AND nickel. The brightness of the steel wears off and all you get is a dead string since dead steel sounds like ass. With pure nickel....strings start out slightly less bright and stay true longer AND are less tough on frets

hope this makes sense.

Makes Sense. To answer your other question. I prefer EB strings for me personally. I change quite often (usually with the start of a new recording) and when I used to play out, before every gig. The "D" string issue...I don't have the problem. Sounds like maybe a bur near the bridge. I have tried many strings. Also the tensions vary greatly between many of the manufacturers. For a floating trem system, this is obviously more of an issue. I have found with the Brand X strings that there is quite a bit of variance in tension amongst the same guage sets. So I prefer to use the EB's. Anyway I think at 3.50 a set, it is not too much of an issue. The thing I like about the EB's also is that I like the sound when they are fresh. When I tried a few sets of say Dean Markley's, It took a little playing until the string acquired the sound I like. Just a retared subtle nuance I am sure. Thanks for the link. Maybe I will try their bass strings.
