i haven't used it, but an eq by Raven labs for around that got a good review in EM. I don't think it was fully parametric, it had sweepable frequencies, but you couldn't adjust the Q. Isn't that what's meant by the term semi-parametric?

Yeah I saw that review also, it looked pretty good but I have not heard of anyone that has used it so far. For my money, I am inclined to wait until something gets the thumbs up on this site becuase magazine adds might (not necessarily) but might be biased whereas, the people writing on this site, at aleast apparently, have no vested interests in any particular piece of gear. So, if anyone who has used the Raven Labs EQ is on this site, please tell us about it.
As far a semi-parametric goes, I really don't know if that is what is meant. That is infomration beyond my knowledge at this time but, it sounds like the right idea.
