I'm looking at buying a pair of powered monitors. Whats the best out there for under $600?

I dunno if these are the best but the Wharfdale Diamonds 8.2 active are pretty sweet, they have great highs and mid range the extreme lows are lacking though so if your doing hip hop your gonna need some bigs to double check the lows. But I don't think there's any speaker under 600 thats replicates the extreme lows accurately

You could get them from a fellow Home recer deepwater for a great price around $300 if things haven't changed. PM him

I picked a pair of Event PS6 monitors off ebay for about $225. I'm very happy with them.

A pair of used Event 20/20bas powered monitors will fit the bill and are amazing monitors for the price.

The Event TR8XL's are one of the best you'll get new, for that price.

Be careful though, these speakers are loud, and sound sweet. You might just fall in love!!!

If you can swing a decent amp somewhere, you can get a pair of brand spankin' new B&W DM602 SIII's for $600. Unsheilded, though - If that's important to you...

I'd love to be able to swing an amp but the closest i'd be able to come to free is my marshall ;) .

Alesis 1 (passive) with a yamaha a100a makes a decent combo for me :)

It's all in your ears... listen to monitors at your local music place and find a set of monitors that work for you.

10,000 posts on here say: USE THIS, USE THAT! Then a few posts here and there say, "Use what you feel will work for you, not what works for them"

just my 2 cents...
