Hey,
I finally decided to go for an 8 track 1" deck. I've found that 8 tracks keep me on my toes and lets me get that underground sound that I love. Now I need the best possible mixer for the job.

I've been using a Mackie for quite some time, but it has to go. I'm sick of it being so sterile. Now, I want to get something with british EQs, hopefully under a grand, and possibly 8 busses so I don't have to keep plugging things in and out of the board. If any of you have suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

How bout a Tascam M2524? 24 inline channels, 8 busses, probably under a grand 2nd handed...

Or, use a Allen & Heath Mixwizard 16:2DX... have the first 8 channels' direct outs plugged in your 8 track inputs, and the 8 track outputs in the line-ins of channel 9-16... Should be less than $1000 2nd handed (new around $1200-1300)

thanks! what are any person's opinion on the Studiomaster Mixdown series?

From what I hear from various folks, Studiomaster should be avoided... crosstalk, noise, the whole enchilada...

Thanks for that....any other mixers preferably like Soundcraft would you suggest?

british sound- try spirit studio ( budget soundcraft ). nice eq, and the pres distort really nicely!! i know what you mean about the mackie. i still need to use external pres for some vital stuff but the really are a much underrated console. try and find a 16 channel one. you can probaly pick one up for under £500 (700 dollars), and its an eight bus.
