Hey all,

I have a alesis multimix 4.

I was wondering which microphone would give me the best quality if I chose
to record vocals and trumpet for the best price.

I am pretty much a beginner, and I don't need anything too high quality,
but I dont want a really crappy sound either. I'm not doing anything
serious for now.

thanks

Get an SM57. There are better mics but few as versatile. The entire drum kit on Hall & Oates' Sara Smile was recorded with SM57s. People sing into them all the time. It's probably the most common guitar amp and snare mic on the planet.

And you could save as much as half the price if you purchase one used! :thumbs up:

I would urge you to consider something like the AKG Perception 120.

Just so versatile and built like a tank...... great sound...... only $120 new ???

Sennheiser MD441. Not too cheap but sometimes you see them used. SM57 until then.
