hey

i am looking to buy a mic drum package and was wondering what is the best kit for the money?
any suggestions?

thanks

I don't think any mic package is a good idea first of all. Its best to customize your mic set-up. Research each and every mic and which would best suite you... and let me tell you, there is no package that will do that for you.

But, to answer your question, I think Shure has a mic package out there with some sm57's and a Beta 52 for kick. Thad probably be the best bet since your getting the 57's, which are great for everything. That Beta is really nice too.

Depending on what your needing them for, you'll also need a hi-hat mic and some overheads. If you already knew this than just ignore me!

im not a fan of mic packages....

instead, id get a pair of Marshall MXL603's (or a single for mono) for drum overheads.......

for the kick, id say a AT ATMpro25

a sm57 on snare.......

they are all low cost mics, yet hard to beat unless you foot up many $$$$$.......
