does anyone know what kind of mics pres or anything that stevie ray used on his guitar. maybe any techniques he used when recording. or if theres any pres out there that sound good for the blues sound that would be great

I'd recommend taking this one to the Guitar / Bass forum; you'd have a lot better luck. For what it's worth, the sound comes out of the amp. Not from some mic technique or preamp.
