Best low budget mic for rap/soft rock/r & b

I'm just getting into Home Recording and I want to start building my studio. I need a mic between $100-300 that would be ideal for Rap/Soft Rock/R & B. Also what will I need to connect the mic to my cpu so I can record using Cool Pro? What amps would I need? I want the sound quality to at least be average. Thanks guys any help is welcomed, this forum looks great.

Get a SM57.
If your just getting started I don't think that will be your weekest link.

I would spend my money on a soundcard first.

im looking for the same thing what would be a good preamp for that. for around 300 and 500. by that i mean both price ranges because i dont know how much i feel like spending yet
