I'm looking for a soundcard, but really need one of good AD conversion quality, I'm not really in need of preamps (I'm gonna do that externally). I've looked at the LynxTwo, and would get it if I could afford it (does anyone know a place I could get it cheap? :)). What soundcard/audio interface is the best quality?

Cheers :D

Well, what's your price range? (I'm gathering < $1000 since the LynxTWO is out of the question.) How many I/Os do you need (analog, digital)?

Have you tried eBay (and other classifieds) for a LynxTWO? Probably looking at $750-800 for a used one.

$800 or less. Need preferably 6i/o although 4 might do it.

Yeah I mean there's possibilites. Everyone knows that MOTU are well respected, but I'd like the best possibility :)

Hmm...Well I suppose I can't give you a hands-down, bar-none answer with the requirements you've provided.

Considering the available technology, Alot of the stuff out there is very very comparable. The "best" system is usually the one that lends itself best to what you are doing and the other gear that you are using.

My suggestions would be to read from the plethora of other posts along the lines of "What's the BEST SOUNDCARD????"...then decide which one best suits your needs.

The Echo Mia is very quiet and very transparent. The earlier ones have no midi.

OK - it's not in your price range, but I've done some studio grade stuff on it and it's never failed. (Windows 2000 / latest drivers)
