I am wanting to add another inexpensive preamp to my rack, and there are a lot of options out there, I just don't know which one to choose. The most expensive I would go would probably be around $400. That is the range of the M-Audio Tampa. A dual-channel preamp would be preferred, but it is not a necessity. I would rather have a good quality single-channel than a poor quality dual-channel. I would just like to know some of your opinions for possible choices. Thanks for your input.

My vote goes to the Really Nice Preamp by FMR audio. About $475, and dual channel.

See if you can try the Rane MS 1b. One of the cleanest, best-sounding preamps out there. No frills, amazingly nice sound. Ugly. Way inexpensive.
