Hey guys, I saw a couple other threads about this but non really answered my question.
I'm moving out for college soon and I'll be living in a dorm=downsize.
Anyways, I don't have a firewire port on my laptop but I do have an ExpressCard/54 Slot (also supports ExpressCard/34). I already have a firewire interface(Echo Audiofire4) so I'm looking at an expresscard 34/54 firewire card so I can use them together. I realize its imperative that I get one with a TI chipset.
What are your suggestions? Is it worth spending $100 on a card or are the $30 ones sufficient?
Here are some I was looking at:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...0024045&IsNodeId=1&name=IEEE 1394 ExpressCard
Which do you guys recommend?
By the way, I'm running a HP pavilion laptop:
Intel Core i3 2.13GHz
500 GB HD @ 7200
4 GB of DDR3 RAM
I won't be doing more than 3 simultaneous track recording on Reaper, or more than 20 tracks total.
THANKS!
Evan
