Same here. A standard shubb 6 string capo can get by on a 12, nylon, or banjo also.

The Shubb is the best, by far.

ok ok you hecklers i am sorry !

:D :D :D :D :D got it over with first enjoy the thread now.

Kyser for live, Shubb for recording. I lost at least 5 Shubbs playing live, so I switched to the Kyser for gigs.

i use kyser because one of my capos is cut down. i've cut it to open up both e-strings along with the b. its easier for me to change a kyser in a live situation too.

third hand capo

Anyone have/use on of these? http://www.thirdhandcapo.com/
I bought one out of curiousity, and it's kinda fun to mess with, but I've never been able to write a good song with it. Maybe I'm just too used to standard tuning.

I have one and use it occasionally. Some guys that kick ass with it are Chris Proctor and Harvey Reid.

Go with kyser all the way!

If you put it on upside down (2nd fret), you get an open Esus4 tuning, like DADGAD a tone up, without detuning, plus you have the open strings, really cool! (Called the foote capo)

If you haven't tried it, do it!

Also the Catley Capo (same thing - upsidedown, but on the 4th fret) again amazing sounds, really for acoustic playing, check it out!

The Kysers tend to over grip the neck and cause tuning problems. But, for live, they can't be beat in terms of being easy to use.

I don't think it matters what you use for recording as you should be tuning all the time between takes. Shubb is the best for this app, though.
