What is the best anti virus. By best I mean most efficient. The one that I am currently using is a resource hog, and gobbles up processor resources.

Thanks in advance :)

They all are, I just do not use anti virus, re format regularly, and am careful online.

The best anti virus is to not go or let people go to dodgy sites on your PC and not to open dodgy email attachments and not to dl dodgy little programs or exe's from p2p places.

Another Avast user.. Free and frequent updates. I used to have Norton but this free proggie is better IMO.

Same here! Got Norton with one of the programs I bought, as soon as it expired I switched to avast. Have not had virus problems since.

a mac? :P sorry had to say it.

Better yet: Linux for webbrowsing and downloading and a computer that does not access the internet for audio.

On these same lines, LINUX will work just as well for a PC user and its FREE. Cool thing is with proper set up you can dual boot it with Windows so you can still run all your windows programs offline on the same PC then just designate LINUX to be the OS that goes online without the need to fight the virus battle.

PC Cilin has worked best for me for years. daily updates, no virus in 3 years.

I have had great luck with AVG. The best thing is to keep your DAW offline though. Mine can't even go online... no modem and I can only get Dialup at home. On my work and internet computer I do use AVG though.
