Best affordable mic for the job?

Lookin into buyin an sm57 for micing an amp and i also need a good mic or pair of mics for acoustic. Somewhere in the 200 to 300 range. Any suggestions?
 
Studio Projects has a good, cheap pair of small diaphragm condensers (C4) you could consider.

I can't say that I have. Audio Technica and MXL makes some decent stuff as well that is in your price range. Look up Village Basement Sessions. They are a series of live performances recorded in this dude's basement. All he uses is the cheap SDC/LDC MXL combo that you can get for 100-200(can't remember off hand).
