does anyone know anything about what mics and pres Ben Folds used in their recordings? I really love the way all his vocals sound.

I'm pretty sure they used either a Blue Mouse or Kiwi on most of BF's vocal sessions.

to bad its not like the shure site where they list what mic and what they were used for?

Can you imagine how tough it would be to keep track of all that stuff?

They'd almost have to hire another marketing guy for that. Which would probably add another $100 to the cost of their mics (Remember it's a pretty small company compared to Shure).

It doesn't really matter a whole lot anyway. Whatever sounds good on one guys voice isn't necessarily going to sound any damn good on the next guy's, so it's a tossup to begin with.

i know that there was a thread that talked about the ben folds recordings......both as ben folds 5 and ben folds. i think they talked about gear and everything. i just can't find it. i thought it was just called ben folds or something, but i can't find it now. i know it was this site.
