Hi, Anyone own, heard, A/Bed or have comments on this unit? I've done several searches and asked questions on several forums about the Bellari RP220. Responses have been mixed, some say it's junk, some say it's good. Some say noisey, some say quiet, 0ne said it has a "Rubber Soul" type sound. Another said he uses it on side of his Avalon and likes it, another said it was good for a doorstop. There's no place around here that sells it so I can't listen to make a first hand determination. I don't like buying and shipping back an item. I record Beatle style, R&B and R&R. ( My mikes are SP-C1, several 57's, ND 868, C1000s, recording to ADAT through A&H mix Wiz, Sytec and Langevin DVC pres.) Thanks, Don

I tried one for a couple of days. Not much better than the Blue Tube. It is a so-so type of unit. Think about the RNP and you will save money in the long run. Or, you can buy something cheaper, lose money and save for the RNP again.

Thanks acorec, What was it that you didn't like about the RP220? I've read on several forums that the DMP3 and RNP were close in sound quality.

I think it's very cool, on the right application and in the proper context.

It seemed rather "dark" I could not get any real life out of it. It did work good on my TLM103. But, I returned it and got the Focusrite and RNP. I like both of the former much better. You can try the Bellari. Maybe you will have better results.

Oops....... I meant I like both of the later.

Thanks for the replies Chessrock and acroc, unless I come across a better deal on an RNP or Peavey VMP I'll get the 220.

I'd think the vmp2 would make you a happier camper in the long run. The Bellari is very cool for certain things and in certain situations, but the vmp2 might be something you could use a lot more regularly and on a lot more tracks.
