im probobaly going to purchase it... instead of my lousy pandora PX3 wich im using now... =(

Hi Leeking.
I'm going tomorrow to try them out. Also a POD.
I know I'll not buy a POD from all the research, articles and reviews I've read. I just want to try it for myself.
I've narrowed it down to the J-station and V-Amp2.

One thing I don't like about what I read on the Vamp, and it's really a minor thing, is that there is no On/Off switch. It has to be unplugged to turn it off. I have a MX 602A and there is no switch on it either. The way my stuff was set up in my old house, it was a pain in the lower torso to reach and stretch to unplug it.

But I'm going in tomorrow with an open mind.
I've read conciderable reviews by guitarists on all three. The one thing most of them say that the POD has over the V or J is it's clean distortion at higher volumes.
At twice the $ I can use my own. Then the other plus is POD has software to do editing.
I use Sonar and can probably do as good a job anyway without either one, but being the gear junkie I've turned into, I need a fix, so I'm off to try the J and V out.

I'm leaning toward the Vamp though, I guess only because I have the Behringer mixer. I can add a damn switch.

Over here, where we european kinda peoples live, we have these kinda small extension leads with multiple sockets on a block, and you can get these with a switch. I just have one of those permanently attached inside my rack, and it's about the only switch I use. Everything except for the amp (which I turn down to '0' first to save my speakers) is powered by it...

Now, for about 50$ I can get you one. I know that it's probably not compatible with your plugs, but the cable and switch are very usable.

Yeah, that's what I was using, a surge protector.
But the room I was using for my studio was set up in such a way that all the SPs were on a shelf, out of the way, near electrical outlets on the ceiling.
The room was small and no place to put anything.
Now I'm in a huge house and have some room to swing my guitars around and jump from one side of the room to the other impressing all my fans who are three hundred rows deep and packed in the isles yellin,,,,,,,,,,
~ coughs ~
I have a bit more room now to place my stuff within easy reach.

Thanks for the offer Roel, but I'm going to either use the SP, surge protector, or put a switch on the thing.

Oh man badgas...

You just hit one of my major sore spots with the gear so many companies are putting out these days.
First they cut costs by starting to make us all use those insipid wall-warts. Now, as unbelievable as it is, they are cutting costs by eliminating on/off switches.
What the heck is up with that?!
I would gladly pay an extra 5 bucks for an on/off switch ANY FREAKING DAY than put up with a piece of crap device that I have to unplug to turn on and off.
And furthermore, if you are going to force us to use the wall warts, at least put a pig-tail on it so that more than two pieces of gear can be plugged into a six outlet strip!

I might ad that POD has an on/off switch AND a wall-wart with a pig tail. That alone would be enough to sway me if I were on the fence.

one benefit to using surge protector with a switch is the transformer will be out of the circuit away from spikes or having to run all day long even though the pods switch is off. The vamp with surge protector will switch off everything. I have both the pod and vamp I have to tell you the vamp is sounding better all the time.

I would definitley like the pigtails to MANDATORY for the walwarts.

I thought moving transformer away from the other electronics helped cut down on noise or is it just cheaper to cut the noise that way instead of a well planned and shielded arrangement?
