Behringer UB1204 mixer and tube preamp hookup problem
Hello,
I use Sonar4 and a bunch of software synths controlled by a USB MIDI controller. I have a Behringer UB1204 mixer and Behringer Ultragain MIC2200 preamp. I do not hookup any microphones or instruments through preamp, I merely want to "warm up" the sound using the MIC2200 tube preamp.
I am trying to route a signal from my sound card (SB Audigy 2 ZS) through the preamp for signal "warm up" then through the mixer back into my sound card for recording.
However, when I lay down a synth track and record a melody, then I add an audio track to record the MIDI signal that is routed through the preamp and the mixer. The recording works but instead of recording the preamp processed signal, it records the internal sound of the software synth. It seems that the signal coming into LINE IN of my sound card is ignored. What am I doing wrong?
How do I properly hook up my equipment? (I don't think it is hooked up OK). Should the LINE IN of Audigy 2 be enabled somehow first?
