OK, after deliberating on where (or if) to post this question, I've decided that the newbie board is the place (esp since I'm a newbie here). Has anyone done any A/B comparisons between the new behringer UB series mixers with the IMP (so called "invisible" mic preamps), next to the Mackie mixers and/or the old MX euroracks? I was thinking about getting a ub1204fx mixer and using the pres as a budget way to: 1-phantom power my Behringer B1 mic until I can save up for a decent preamp, and 2 maybe eq my sm57s on my drums, computer, and turntables a little before sending the signals into my vs880ex (or would the extra distortion not even be worth it)? It would also double for me as an output mixer for my playback stuff that's currently going through an old Radio Shack POS. One thing that seems cool about the 1204 is that it's got sub outs so you can pass 4 panned mono channels out of it (and some effects, maybe useful for something). Is it a total POS, or decent for the cheap price? (Behringer haters begin)...
P.S. This board is awesome, I've already learned a lot from the posts. Thanks in advance for any advice.
