Well people pirating my cd would be better than no one listening to it at all. =)

Issues like that are more of a commercial concern, and right now that isn't on my mind. I'm trying to get a decent demo out there, and hopefully spend money only when necessary.

But I understand where you guys are coming from, it sucks when people steal a good idea and market it for themselves. That's America, and no good deed goes unpunished. =)

Well from what I understand, it just seems to be prejudice passed on from the arrogant to the ignorant. =)

I hate to sound all philosophical, but it seems that many people just hate Behringer just cause, I don't think half the people that have criticized it have ever owned a Behringer product.

Let's face it, Mackie is Calvin Klein. =)

Lawsuits and pride aside, what's so wrong with Behringer... can anyone answer? =)

So everybody here that actually works as an audio engineer is full of shit but some kid who does a couple gigs at the local bar knows the real truth?

It is funny how Mackie is seen as SSL to Behringer owners. Mackie is nothing amazing but their gear is generally rugged, dependable and clean sounding. Home gear doesn't need to live up to the same standards as road gear so if your mixer never leaves the bedroom then a Behringer may not be so bad.

Another consideration is that most home reccers these days don't use mixers for much more than preamps and monitor feeds. Most people do all their mixing on the computer and all they really need is a couple of decent preamps.

But once you start shopping for preamps then the super expensive Mackies start to look pretty damn cheap.

WELL, ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS... uhhhh...

(... what was the question, again?)

I seriously doubt whether most here who "work as an audio engineer" are in any better position to know the "real truth" about the internal business practices of international audio equipment manufacturers than anyone else. That's kinda like a Pharmacist in Sqintucket Oregon claiming he knows how to do DNA research because he knows the names of medicines. The statement would sound impressive to a burger flipper but it wouldn't make a sheep. Audio engineers should stick to recording music and quit trying to be Truth Bearers and Teachers of the poor degenerate ignorant (bar-gigging) masses.

Barney Frank told me (in a dream), that he could make you into a sheep.

he he he I bet ole Barney has had a bit of experience makin' sheep.

youd be surprised...quite a few of us (especially old school punk rockers) got into this field as a way to broadcast their politics. We ARE informed. I know I can speak for three other members of this very BBS that they came into it this way as well

surfers had the balls enough to boycott south africa during the aparthied era

I quit a job I had for 6 years as manager/engineer at a VERY hi profile studio over my refusal to work on an ESPN project, because I dont like what theyve done to BMX...sounds like a stupid moral stance, but If you dont stand for something, you wont stand for nothin'

Ahhh... I was banished from a studio once for telling the chief engineer he was a pushover and was allowing the band to make stupid decisions. Oops  I was standing on quality music...those were the days.

BMX... My first BMX bike was a custom Stingray with the springer fork on it, pre-roadie saddle years. Had a friend with the Yamaha Moto-bike. That was circa....19......76-1977, I think. Now its Cannondales for me...
