Hi.
Im sorry if I put this Thread the wrong place.

I bought a Behringer Guitar Link Ucg102 some days ago, because i wanted to record some guitar and bass, and play along with my fav songs.
I use Guitar Rig 4 Pro to play over.
Cubase 5 to record
And Itunes to play the music i wanna play along with.
I Guitar Rig under Audio and MIDI settings. Under device i have chose Behringer USB Audio.

I also use Guitar link as my soundcard. So my monitors is putted directly into guitar link.

Now to the problem.
When i play there's a little delay. So when i plug the string on my guitar the sound comes little delayed after.
I fixed that by set ASIO config to "Highspeed" under system performance.
But when i do that the sound that comes from itunes gets really bad. And there's like static noice over the music.
But when i play on my guitar there's no static noice.
Then i have to install the Behringer Guitar link driver again to get the normal sound back. But then my guitar have delay again.

Whats going on? and how do i fix it? :S
Hope you guys can help me.
Thanks - Jonas.

ps. sorry for my bad english :p

First off, give it a while.
Someone may be willing and able to help you, but not everybody's on the board 24/7.
Second, you're having latency issues. So google "latency" and see what you get. Or search this board.
Good luck.

No. The problem isnt the latency. The problem is the annoying noice that comes, after i have fixed the latency problem.

I used this interface once,
Try putting the system performance to "Fast" or "Rapid",
and try using the Application priority to "Above Normal".
It's supposed to work, when I use it these are my settings.

Then the problem is that you are trying to send sound from multiple applications - your DAW and Itunes and you might have mentioned something else, plus what you're trying to input. Putting "Application priority" to above normal will probably make the problem with Itunes worse.
What you're dealing with is the fact that your computer likely can't handle that much playback mixed with playback of an incoming signal with a super low latency.
So,
1) quit using Itunes. Import whatever you wanna play along with into your DAW and play along with it there. That'll get rid of the problem of your Itunes playback being shitty.
2) Optimize your computer for this sort of thing, which you can learn how to do by Googling or searching here for fixes of latency problems.

And your problem is latency. It all falls under the same heading - ie, if you can't get acceptable playback quality at latencies low enough for your liking, then your various settings (in your OS and in your interface's drivers and in your DAW) that relate/contribute to latency are not optimized, or your computer just isn't powerful enough.

Okay thanks :) So you want me to just put the songs into Cubase and play along from there?

That will at least get rid of the problems with the Itunes playback sounding like crap.
Latency will still be an issue.
I assume you're using Guitar rig as a vst in cubase?
If not, you'll probably wanna do that as well.
Still gonna have latency issues, but, depending on your computer, you ought to be able to get some better sounding playback with lower latency settings than the way you were doing it.

Here's the thing.
Bear in mind that you're asking your system to:
1) convert a signal from analog to digital
2) take that signal via USB connected with (more than likely based on my experience with Behringer's device drivers) substandard drivers into the computer
3) simultaneously record that signal and run it through a highly sophisticated modeling software and playback other audio at the same time
4) convert the now effected (by guitar rig) digital information back into analog and
5) play that audio back, all quickly enough that you don't notice the lag between when you play a note and when it comes out of your speakers.

Can it be done this way? Certainly. People do this sort of thing all the time.
Can it be done with the equipment you have? I don't know for certain, as I haven't used that all together, but I don't immediately see why it absolutely couldn't be.
Can it be done straight out of the box (ie, plug and play and get the results you're looking for)? Absolutely not.
This is gonna take some research and optimization of your operating system and DAW and driver settings before you get it to the point where you're happy with it. Google is your friend. Search button is your friend.

Okay. Thanks for your help. Since i started using playback trough cubase, i havent had any problems. :) Im pretty sure my computer is fast enough, i think the problem is the guitar link. Its pretty cheap compared to others on the marked. But works fine with cubase. Again thanks :)

i know im WAAAAY late....but i just wanted to say that i love my guitar link. i use it with fl studio as my output..it can handle waaaay more vsts than my souncard ever could..i just bypass in the asio and turn it down the buffer size to 64samples and i get no delay or crackles..i know ill need to upgrade but for 35 bucks it works well as a simple interface if nothing else...hell i hook it up to my monitors and go from there...probable not the most conventional way but whatever works.

Well, I guess anything sounds better than the built-in soundcard .... Maybe one day you'll get a real audio interface!
