hi yu'all, its been a while since I've been here, BAD PUTER!!!VERY BAD PUTER!!!
well any who ,have you seen the dsp2024? I'm thinking bout buying this thing ,it's cheap and has 6 bands of comp an exciter , gates ,a limiterand a tube simulator (which you can choose from a few types--tre cool) and I downloaded the control software ,boy that was neato
I know it aint no finalizer ,but it aint over 2 grand either,
WHATS THE VERDICT
P.S. I have the ultracurve and i like mine , the slave master at the plant must've only beat the children once who made mine , let the verbal abuse begin

Yeah - I had the same curiousity, until I found one on sale and slightly used. I have to say this thing has some interesting features, but it also has some deficiencies (surprising). It does have a true 6 band compressor that can be configured in stereo OR for individual left/right channels (two mono 6 band comps). You are able to adjust what frequencies each band tends too. However, the stop/start band roll-offs are not where they should be. I get a lot of bleed from neighboring bands, but there is some adjustability there. The compression controls are pretty standard. As far as overall sound quality, I would be afraid to pump a full mix through it - however, I have not tried that yet, who knows I guess. However, it works real good as a de-esser! It also has some tube emulation algorithms that are alright. I plan to keep mine and use it mainly for vocal processing when needed. Heck, I only spent $130 on the thing! The control software needs the latest version of the unit's firmware, which my unit does not have. Fortunately, Berhinger posted the .BIN file on there site so I can burn my own EPROM. Otherwise, you need to send it in and have Behringer do it - I heard their costumer service sux! Make sure the unit you are looking at has version 1.3A firmware!
