Ok I just got a Behringer pmh3000 and I use cakewalk on my pc....Im looking at either a m-audio delta 44 or m-adio delta 66. I am wondering if anybody here would know if this audio interface would be compatable with cake walk.

It's usually not at the application level that you have to worry about these things. The application is programmed to receive and manipulate data in a standard way. The manufacturers of the cards write drivers that interface their cards to the OS. If the drivers work, then any audio application in that environment should work fine.

The mixer has no interaction with the software at all. Audio devices are all made with standard interfaces -- XLR jacks, 1/4" jacks, whatever, that all present standard signal levels to the world. So if the equipment is all designed properly, any mixer would work with any soundcard as long as you could get the cabling between them worked out.

For what it's worth, I've been using a Delta 66 with Cakewalk SONAR and its predecessor, Cakewalk Pro Audio, for about six years, with no troubles at all. (Plus I have a Behringer mixer as well.)

Thanx AlChuck........After I install the driver/s will I have to configure cakewalk to reconize the Delta?.......Sorry for my ingnorance......Guitarist of 19+ years....home recording engineer for just 1 day :D

Cakewalk has a utility built in that determines what the best settings are for your hardware -- it's called a wave profiler, and it will run automatically when you first run it, after installation. You can also launch it manually.

I'm running a Delta 410, Behringer board and cakewalk homestudio 2XL and it works pretty nice. Not sure how your version is, with mine, I had to uninstall cakewalk and reinstall it after I installed the soundcard, it did the diagnostic thing and I was up and running in no time. The in/out selection is all done on each individual track, if all the installations went right from the start you should be able to just choose your ins and ours from the drop down box on each track.

Keep in mind that your mixer is powered. Be VERY carefull how you hook it up.

Thanx Mindcore, I would hate to see something exsplosive happen. :D ....From my understanding I could use my ( non-powered) monitor outs and main outs to go into the Audio interface...........

No, you didn't have to uninstall & reinstall. All you really needed to do was run the wave profiler utility.
