So the other day i purchased a pair of Behringer C2 small diaphragm condensers of of zzounds thinking "what the hell, there only $25 a pop". I did some research, and just about every review I could find said good things about them. So I was just wondering if any one has had any experience with them.

I plan on using them for drums (the recorder man method), if that info helps.

Much love, Drew

I have them and love them.
Behringer's best deal in microphones.
Sounds like you got an exceptional deal.

You should like the results of what you capture with them.

Yeah should be great....You'll have to check out all the other types of recordings you can accomplish with a matched pair of microphones.

not bad
much better than Behringer C4. seems C2 is made in China by 797 audio, similar performance as AT2020, same size capsule. certainly better than the samson "large" diapgragm C01/Behringer C-1.

behringer C-1/c-3/C-4 seems made by Behringer Eurotec factory in house, bad capsule bad design.

I have a pair of these - great as drum/percussion overhead mics - & cheap as chips to boot. This is an example of a tune where I used them as drum kit & conga overhead mics: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7604692T

Anyway you can repost that link...the link didnt direct me to the song example...or just tell me the name of song and I can click link in your sig.

I wanted to hear how these mics sound as overheads because i may buy a couple of them if they sound ok.

Thanks

link works now.

great work on the recording.

the C2s do justice to the congas and the overheads.

Yes, I had a chance got Behringer C-2/B-5/C-4/C-1/C-3 and took apart them, checked the circuit and mic capsule , compared with Samson C01 , At2020 and At2020USB.

Behringer C-4 is completely copied from Behringer C-2 (C-2 seems made by 797 audio in Beijing), but the mic capsule in C-4 is bad, and found a strange thing, seems the designer of behringer C-4 did not know microphone, there is a hard foam at the rear side of the C-4 mic capsule (in C-2, it is a soft foam as damp for high frequency ), the hard foam completely stopped the rear side sound, so most C-4 is omni directional, but C-4 should be a cardioid mic. I am wondering how Behringer controll the quality of C-4, maybe they never done QC for the mics which are made in House.
behringer C-1/C-3 are with same bad capsule as C-4.

the B-5 capsule seems similar as PMI audio C-4/Rode NT4 capsules, should be made by 797 Audio?

Samson C01 is with a similar low quality 16 mm capsule as the C-4.
At2020/At2020USB is with the best 16mm mic capsule, the diaphragm of the mic capsule is with wave, seldom mic is with waved diaphragm, I only sawed waved diaphragm in some much small mic capsule such as shure/EV/At 10mm mic capsules.

So I just got them in the mail the other day, and they sound fantastic!! :D

There you go.
Do a quick search for "Microphone Techniques" and put that stereo bar to use.
