Is it possible to record at the same time as you playback using the behringer ADA8000?

For example,

I would have an interface with ADAT IN OUT where I would plug the behringer.

I would then like to monitor the inputs of the behringer and send the signal to an analog out of the behringer.

If anyone has experience with the ADA8000, I will appreciate your help because the manual doesn't seem to cover this.

Well, the routing of the ADA8000 works like this:
Analog In->ADAT Out
ADAT In->Analog Out

That's the way it's setup, and you can't change it. So you if you have an interface with an ADAT IN, you can output the ADA8000 signal into that. My question would be, why not just monitor from the interface, why do you need to send it back to the ADA8000. Either way, to do that you'd need to send the ADAT Out of your interface into the ADAT In of the Berhinger, and then hook up your monitors to the Analog Outputs of the Behringer.

Just make sure when you select outputs of your interface, you choose the the corresponding analog outputs you want to use. For example: ADAT 1&2 corresponds to Analog 1&2

Yo Tekas- What you want to do is do-able, but you need additional gear. The Behringer sends its ADAT input to its analog outs and its analog input to its ADAT outs. It's a convertor, not a mixer. So- if you send the ADAT out to the ADAT in on the Behringer by Toslink optical cable. Your output will come out of the analog outs. And, you have 8 outs for 8 separate channels, not 2 outs, left and right. The Behringer is not a mixer...

First, get an ADAT splitter. There are many, but this is a cheap one-

Send your ADAT out to the splitter. Now you have 2 ADAT outs. Send one to your controller, and the other to the ADAT in on the Behringer. This will give you 8 analog outs also. Send the 8 analog outs to an 8X2 mixer. Yamaha would be a good choice. The mixer will allow you to monitor from the mixer, or send the main outs on the mixer to a headphone distribution amp.-Richie

I currently own a soundcraft ghost, I was just wondering if it is possible for me to record and monitor from cubase with the ADA8000 and a firestudio for example

(Audio goes into the ghost preamps, ghost direct outs go to firestudio and ADA8000 line ins, then monitoring is activated in cubase and sends it back to my tape return)

Is firegured out this is one of the most upgradable and cheapest solution for my setup (24ins and 24 outs)

Should I be doing this?

I have an ADA8000 to use as mic preamps for an ADAT HR24, but I find it limited as there's no good means to headphone monitor the inputs. I think a better solution is a small mixer with direct outs. I can send the direct outs straight to the HR24's analog line inputs and monitor off the mixer, soloing individual mics to monitor with headphones, and can even run a stereo mix off the mixer to two unused HR24 channels. I wish the ADA8000 at least had a headphone output with the ability to solo channels for headphone monitoring.

That's why I use the Studio Projects SP828 as the front end to my HD24XR. It provides a surprisingly good set of preamps, plus a simple stereo mix bus with a headphone amp to monitor what I'm recording. It also has a solo function for each channel. I can daisy chain them together so that all 24 channels feed the same mix bus and solo bus.

Compared to the ADA8000, I suppose you might consider the SP828 expensive. But it's still a pretty amazing bargain for the quality that it provides. And it's still less expensive than nearly any other 8 channel pre on the market. I've been using them for a year now, and I'm finding that I like them more every time I use them.
