Beginners questions (Sound issues)

Apologies in advance.

I'm trying to record my guitar (on Logic via a Pod) but when I do so the guitar tone distortes and there is even a strange delay when I'm recording while I play. Is there any way to correct this? Thanks.
 
The distortion is probably caused by having the output volume to high from your POD, try turning the output down as you play untill the unwanted distortion goes away.

As far as the delay that is an issue called latency. If you are not using any computer FX while recording you can usally just use the monitor out on your sound card. If that is available for your device. We can probably help you more if you let us know what you are running
