Beginner question

Hi!

I'm using a E-MU 0404 soundcard and Adobe Audition. E-Mu has a patchmix with effects. When singing I can use the patchmix and its settings live but when I press record in Adobe Audition nothing of the settings from the patchmix is recorded. Only a clean track.

What have I missed?

i have never used the emu sound card or any of its built in software but ill give it a shot anyways.

From the sounds of it... the effects are for monitoring only. If the emu is good enough and has low latency... see if there is a way you can turn off the direct monitoring and monitor direct from audition instead. You will hear a raw track with no effects (whats recording). You then should be able to add a plug in which may be either a vst or built into audition to the track.

if you cant monitor direct.. you hsould still be able to add that as a plug in on a track after you record the raw track.
