I have recently purchased a Audio technica AT 2020 USB mic and cubase 5. My main idea is to only record my voice on to cubase, along with a backing track, mainly to make records for family etc. After a long time and lots of trouble i have manged to get my mic to record but my only problem is that it will only record when the "ASIO low latency device" setup is chosen. It will not work record when i choose "ASIO full setup". This results in low latency and creates a poping noise on my computer which makes it hard for me to hear a clear good quality? :/ is there any way i could get it to record without the popping noise and by using th ASIO full setup?
or is this due to the choice of mic i have used, an usb rather than buying a normal mic with and audio interface perhaps? Please help as i would like to know how to work this out!

I'm not an expert on USB mics and latency, but most people here tend not to favour them, and go down the audio interface / standard microphone route...

Exactly! See about trading in that USB microphone and getting a real one - not a lot of money something like a MXL V67g $80.ish and a Tascam us122 MK11 $100.ish. Then down load Reaper as your Daw Free trail and the cost $40.
