Beginner 488 question

I have two good mics
SM 57
Vintage 55s

Do I need to power Microphones somehow before they go into my 488 ?

Say for recording acoustic guitar or an electric guitar amp?


Or do they go straight into the 8 track?

Straight in, is the short answer here.

No phantom power required for the sm57's.

I'm not familiar with the other one you mentioned.
