I love the old bluegrass style. My Grandpa played a mean mandolin and fiddle back in the day. He is actually on a few old 78's from way back when.

Hearing this reminds me of being a little kid and watching him and his band play.

:D

luv that banjer pickin. Sound like another successful night of fun over at your place!! :)

This sounds really good. Live, if it is live - it's great, if it isn't live then bring the vocals up. Very real sounding.

Great stuff!

oh yeah, excellent mando!

Great fun bluegrass, but the genre is listed there on nowhereradio as 'alternative'?

boydrj, you are a lucky fellow to have had that experience. thanks.

Toki, I thought you were coming over. we saved a seat. thanks for the listen.

Emeric, yep, live as always on Wed. nite. We nudge David every now and then, towards the mics (hanging from the ceiling) until he looks up and sees'em, and runs away. And that is him playing the mando too.

Innovations, they don't have alternative bluegrass listed. he he

Thanks fellows for the listen, hope you enjoyed.

Dan

this jam really made me not want to go to work today.. nice 'real' sound.. bring those vocals up if possible..

YeeeeeeeeHawwwwww!!!

...Cool stuff D. Its always a pleasure and a nice contrast to hear your stuff in here D. It sounds like kicking back at rehearsal w/ a couple of buddies and jammin over a few beers. If youre planning on tweaking this a little more, maybe bring up the vocs..... allthough it sounds like it might only be one or 2 mics... Anyways, very nice man.

"eeeeoooooouuuu" I agree.

You guys need a dedicated vocal mic and you could record each session and make a CD. I'd buy one... hell I'd buy two !

Dennis

thanks sami, my vote would be NOT going to work. he he he he

G., thanks too. All I can do is tell the fellows to get a little closer on Wed. nite since it's done live. I now have 3 mics hanging from the ceiling, but a couple of the folks are real mic shy. I've tried getting the mics hotter, but then it's too much when everyone is jamming. I have a bunch of Wed. nites on cd and some nights the vocals come thru a lot better. I guess it's a feel thing. I just put this one up so ya'll could hear me trying to play the banjo.

Thanks for the listen.

Dan

Even my lazy dog has got her gittalong moving with this tune.
Theres just something about bluegrass that seems to resurrect the almost dead:D :D

Id like to kear it tracked Individuallyas well so you could make some adjustments.

Peace
Bill

Hey Dan. That practising is payin off. That right hand is coming along nicely! In all honesty, I thought the banjo was the best part of this piece.

Love it!! I love this kind of stuff. The old banjo sounds perty good. I would love to hear the vocals a little better, but considering this was just a practice recording, I can dig it. I do like the idea of a dedicated vocal mic for your practice though. Keep on pickin

Cool pickin' man.....

you bringin' your banjo with ya to the jammie?

we can do some jammin' for sure! :D

dtb!!!

shoot man! throw the door open and sell tickets! i love that down home bluegrass sound!
:)

sounds pretty good........my brother's in town for the summer and is a banjo picker....i need to post something of us playing some time............do you run a compressor on the banjo to prevent clipping? how are you micing it?

You bringin' the banjo to the fest, dan? Hows about a crash course?
