This is a song I'm going to be sharing with my new band to see if they want to do it.

This recording is me on guitar, bass & vocals and FruitLoops drums, though if my band does it, I'll be playing bass.

My only pre-comment is "if I could sing in tune, I would" : )



It's not only the first time they will hear something I've written, but also the first time they'll here anything done in my project studio. Sort of want to impress them on both counts ya know?

Any input will be appriciated.

Reminds me of old Beck or something. I'd say your voice fits the tune well bud. It's definately a fun listen and is a song to enjoy. Good lyrics too.
 
I like it. Its a fun little story and I agree that your singing suits the song. Its mellow and honest sounding. Nice goin'.
 
Thanks. I've been taking the CD of the mix to other stereos and am starting to wonder is the bass guitar a little hot in the mix? Being a bass player primarily, that seems to be my tendency... :rolleyes:
 
Great vibe right off the bat. Nothing wrong with your voice man....it's not offensive in the least bit, and fits the tune. Nice guitar tone. Fits the whole idea well. Nice, solid rocker. :cool:

I think the bass is fine. There's plenty of space for it, and it doesn't seem to get muddy.
 
Thanks Dogman (and thanks for that avatar :rolleyes: ). I've never thought of myself as much of a singer so some encouragement is really nice. I'll be seeing the guys in the new band tonight so I think I'm gonna burn them some CDs of this.

Nate, I like your voice. You just don't have any confidence in it, it seems, but the tone and natural balance is great. You should start singing more. ;)

The tune is really cool too. Can't wait to hear what your band comes up with!

Thanks Chris. Funny thing is, earlier in life I actually fronted a band as guitarist/vocalist. Seemed to do OK then, but in the past six years or so, I've only been playing bass and have sort of forgotten about singing, primarily because I can't play bass and sing at the same time to save my life.

I too will be interested to see what the band comes up with...
