"Beautiful, Beautiful"-Need critique/feedback on this version,please

I recorded this version of "Beautiful,Beautiful" on my Tascam 2488 Neo. I need some constructive critique on this song. What can I do to make it better? Does it sound good to your ears? I am aware of some plosives issues since I do not have a pop filter yet.
I recorded all tracks using my Yamaha MM8.

Listening on a laptop
Vocals are burried in various parts of the song (generally the quieter parts), need more consistent levels and tuning if you want this to sound like a commercial release.
Crash cymbals are way too up front for my taste

just one opinion YMMV
 
get a pop filter. lead vox have too much mid to high-mids. soften the highs on the hi hats and cymbals. perhaps pan them. turn down the spash or ride or whatever it is. perhaps there's a little little amount of the...2.6k range to be cut. just do boost sweeps to see what is the worst.

somehow i like the snare.

could the piano be played with? maybe copying the track, hard panning, screwing with different compressions and eq's and reverbs on each to give it a less of a keyboard sound?
 
The singer has a lovely voice. I wonder if you could have had a more stereo effect on the piano to sort of fill it out a bit more. I noticed a few pops and the cymbals were a tad tinny. But I thought the song was excellent.
