At 2:04 in the song, I'm having trouble making a sound like that. How is it done?

I don't have access to the CD right now but if you're talking about that shrill guitar sound that comes in with lyrics like "show me round the sloping mountains" (can never understand what he says there) it sounds to me like the highest A on the guitar (17th fret of e string) with lots and lots of chorus and distortion. hope that helps (and that i'm talking about the right part).

I just went and had a listen. What HabitualG said about that high A repeated in 32nd or 64th notes, but I would say minimal effects for that specific guitar part.

I think it is the only use of sweep picking on a Beatles tune. I am not sure if it is George or Paul doing it though.

Methinks its George using the same tone as his earlier lead before the chorus on the 2nd string A at the 10th fret. He's giving it a hellacious finger-vibrato that blends cool with the distortion and the tremolo picking.
