I would love some feedback, I usually only show my girlfriend anything rather than my mates so this is a good way to hide.

I am new to digital recording, have recently baught a new box and so I am learing new things all the time.

I like to record things live and so perhaps it sounds crap, but hey who gives a monkeys!

Download them here

:o

No crap here. Pretty damn good actually. Just too short.

Erland,

Your new to digital recording? Huh....I thought this was pretty cool. Way too short but it sounded good. The recording was pretty good. Maybe the mix on "safe place" is a bit off, but through my "un-pro" ears, the recording was good. Make 'em longer.

cool.

later.

new

Thanks for having a wee listen. I downloaded yours Track Rat, wow! Such good quality. I just use my new 4 track, what do you use?

Here is a cheesy song that my girlfriend likes. It was the first one I tryed to sing on....erm. What the heck!

download skipalongalie

:o

Erland, I appriciate your kind words. I use ADATs for the most part but I feel the mic pre's and such have a lot to do with the way it comes out.
I just listened to your new tune. Damn, friend, that's REAL nice. I might have to put this one on a CD to listen to in the car if you don't mind. That justs sounds plain good.

Erland -

Man! You have a great voice!
I am listening to Skip Along a Line, and I love it.
What kind of gear did you use on it?

Just plain great!

Oren

Hey, Mr. Modest!! ...pretty good stuff....4 track, eh?? you sure milk it good. nice visions..

You got great guitar tone to both of those pieces.

Miced? Direct? HOW?????!!!!!

Really warm and solid.

Nice songs as well.

I'd say you used what multitracking capability you had very well.

Good stuff

Greetings,

Very good stuff man, simplicity and it works better that alot of complicated stuff you hear.

Please do share you gear and techniques, expecially the guitars, they are very nice.

what you`ve said

You have said such great, encouraging stuff! I have been listening to a lot of the songs on the board and with most I have been blown away. The quality is so good!

I recently got a Boss BR532 and I picked up a cheap electoaccoustic washburn in Asia. I have been so impressed with digital recording and I am learing new tricks all the time.

The boss is a 4 track but there is no limits these days. I wanted to use the effects and drums a lot at first but now I like to mic up the guitar. Sitting in the kitchen with half a bag of suger for a rattle, the sound is live and nicer I feel.

I have a computer but I don`t have any recording stuff on it. I would love to work with strings, better drums etc. for background but don`t know were to start. The boss allows me convert to wav files on the PC so I am sure I could learn to use some sort of tracker.

Any advice for me.

Erland

:D

Erland,

Loved skipalongalie. Very nice song, and easy to listen to. Sorry can't give ya any advise on cpu stuff, I am trying to learn myself.
Just wanted to drop a line that I really enjoyed the song.

Matt

Any advice? Sure!
A good place to start would be N-Track. It is a great multi track program, that only costs 40$.
Just load the wav files you made with your Boss into N-track, and you will have virtually an unlimited number of tracks!

You can download a free evaluation version at www.fasoft.com

I don't know much about software drum machines (I usually use a MIDI sequencer and my synth for that), but many people swear by Frooty Loops.

you listen to David Grey don't ya. or maybe you share the same music approaches. not really my taste, but that doesn't really matter, it was recorded pretty well...i like the warmness of the bass in Skipalongalie. the songs are short, i don't have a problem with that because they really aren't my taste anyways, but i would still suggest that you make them as long or short as you want. great for your first time, if it really is your first time. ;)

take a listen to my cuts at

http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/2/1265/singles.shtml

especially Movie Circles and Rabbit Renewed

take care. keep at it

cheers

Thanks ever so much for listening. What an unbelievable site. It is amazing that one minute youve made a song and the next its been heard by loads.

I wanted to make a long propper song but I got bored. There is no bass or drums etc. just the accoustic and vocals. There is bit in the middle or "middle eight" that needs filling but I would rather start another song. I wanted to try a classic beatles style chorus but couldn`t sing high enough.

What do you think?

go here

or

Download hideaway

Thanks, I am addicted. I can`t get enough of your songs.

Erland

I really like your stuff. The songs, your voice. The atmosphere and simplictity. Hideaway could be a Badfinger song (I really like that old pop stuff, Beatles, etc.) They're real nice the way they are, but they probably would be great, too, if you did them up like Coldplay or Travis or something...anyway, great job!

Erland,

Direct linking to downloads is a major no-no.

Your links have been disabled until your refresh your artists pages again. I'm being nice because your a newbie ;) Normally this results in a deleted account...

Sorry

I didn`t realise Waldo. Sorry for the inconvenience. How do I delete those past download links. I refreshed my artist page.

Erland

Macle, that was a real compliment. Thanks. I am learning how to do new things each time I record so hopefully they will get better and better.
