i mean i dont want like the 2000 dollar martins.....just.....something to play with that isnt a hunk o crap

Isn't this the part where we all say "Go to the music shop and try out all 7879386363486 acoustic guitars they have in there, and get whichever one sounds/feels the best in your opinion" ...?

Heh. I'll stop typing now. I'm taking up posting space for someone who might actually have some helpful input here.
 
at guitar center i saw these acoustics for 99 bucks....they were called baby something or other....is that what you speak of?





i think i might hit up all the local music shops and see if they got any used ones.....or at guitar center for a used one.....



yeah im dabbling......those 6 strings were just callin out to me.....well i already have an electric.....i just want an acoustic....but acoustic bass's suck monkeys......so i figured why not a 6 string.....and at any rate i could get my blues funk on

for cheap acoutics Id look at Yamaha and Takamine......

i bought a Takamine G240 and EG240 together at a garage sale brand new for $100 and they play pretty good........
 
all 6 strings are not created equal... for string spacing and action issues you gotta play it first. And unless your local store has an "acoustic room" go when it isn't busy; I assume many people have had the experience where an acoustice bass sounds much different when they bring it home.
 
I am also a bassist. I bought a $180 takamie from Mars and am very happy with it.

I went in and played a bunch of $99 - 125 guitars and they all had tuning/action problems.
 
Hey Freak,

Let us know what you end up getting and whether it sounds any good...would be interested to hear. Especially if it turns out to be crap so I don't ever make the same mistake :D
 
Alvarez makes some affordable guitars that stay in tune,sound good,and play good.I would check them out before I purchased
one of the others.
 
ill be sure to let you guys know what i end up getting.....if anything.....getting a guitar would take a chunk out of the motorcycle fund :D
