Bass traps with a pitched ceiling...anyone want to take a crack at this one?

Let us be unburdened by that which has been ?
Bass trap theory is easy enough, but I have a pitched ceiling, roughly I would say a 1:12 pitch. Bass traps go 90 degrees on the wall union, but my ceiling is not flat. So where would you suggest I place bass traps...all the way up until the ceiling pitch, at the bottom, at the top, or intermittently dispersed up the wall, say in 2' increments. Or maybe something totally different. Ethan has some good information and I believe his site and one of the articles therein www.realtraps.com mentions this. I just didn't get a definitive guideline on what to do with a pitched ceiling, only that I seem to recall it was a good thing.

Also, as the recording room (studio is such a strong word for a one-room setup, decoupled two-leaf as it may be ;) ) gets a little closer to completion, I'm still a bit in the dark about the diffusion vs. absorption on the back wall, given my final interior dimensions are going to be 13'-6" x 11'-6" with concrete floor (decoupled from the exterior leaf concrete block walls and interior leaf walls), sheetrock interior leaf walls (single 5/8"). I've read diffusion is better for larger spaces, and I know I need some absorption halfway between monitors and ears, on the wall that I'm facing (back of monitors) and possible on the back wall...either this or diffusion.

And another thing if I haven't taxed your brains enough already...if I want to have an impromptu vocal area in this room, which is my only space and I have no choice about, Ethan says to do this in a corner with absorption (I forget the exact number here, forgive me....) 3-4' out on both sides. If this is in the rear of the studio, should I treat both side equally like this to not be lopsided, or is treating on one corner (besides the usual bass traps of course) 3'-4' out on both sides not going to skew the sound when mixing from the board?

Lots of questions, my apologies, but looking for definitive answers at this point as I near finishing the interior leaf and the all-critical details. It's been a learning journey along the way, and continues to be, and thanks to all for your advice up to this point. I'll post more pics maybe tomorrow. :) :) :)

Oh yeah and btw, thanks to everyone who have replied to my posts thus far, and even the ones who have not replied directly to me but have offered the good advice that I've read. It has really helped with this little project. :)

Bass builds up between corners because it is the longest dimensions in the room. So is the longest dimension in the room from the center peak to one of the opposite corners or is it still from the corner to the opposite corner? With you describing the slope as relatively low (1:12) i am guessing that the longest distance is still corner to corner.

Yeah, still corner to corner, though the inside pitch of the ceiling along the walls is a close second.
