This is going to sound stupid. But, How can I bass trap a SMALL room? I'm unsure to what bass traps even are used for. How can I make them? Are they a Must? Help please!

How small is the room? What kind of walls? What floor? Bass traps are used to tune a room that may cause inreliable/ tainted bass frequency sounds. You want to callibrate your room so that the frequency response at the mixing position is even and true. Bass trapping is one way to ensure there is not a massive upside down bell in the bass freq's....I guess. I'm not an expert and have never treated a room.

Thanks for the links, the walls are I assume dry wall with a thing layer of finished wood on it, on side of the 4 walled room is a big window with thick drapes, not sure what I'm going to do to that side yet. The room is aprox, 10 by 12 feet. Once again thanks for the help.

The smaller the room, especially with divisible ratios (if you're talking 10x12x8, you're in a world of hurt), the more bass trapping is necessary.

But construction aside - Unless the room has been treated to arrest transmission, the whole "all four corners and high sides" will still be a good starting point. Bad ratios could easily need considerably more to clean things up - But the "starting points" will still make a considerable impact.
