Bass --> PC Help

Hi all,
I have just installed a Soundblaster Live! card with the Live Drive into my PC with Reason 3, What would be the best way of hooking my bass up to it?? Through the MIDI ports or Line in ports? Im relatively new to home recording so any advice would be great !!

The line in may work, but not real well.
Get a direct box and run it to the line in.

Won't work through the MIDI port!

Line In or Mic. Signal will probably be too low for Line In and too high for Mic. As metalhead sez, direct box (DI) is indicated.

I don't think you can record a live bass in Reason can you?
