bass drum

Hi
how can i kill the sound of the bass drum because it sounds really loud..when I step out the room practice...the only thing that you hear is the bass drum...
is there any technique to turn down the boom sound...
i placed some carpets inside but it doesnt work...

If you've already used bass drum treatment (putting stuff in the drum) about the only other option is to build a sound baffel around the drums.

Use 2x4 boards to build a frame and fill the frame with foam or other material secure burlap or some rugged material as a cover over the material.

It looks and acts much like the cubicle dividers you see in office buildings.
