I'm at work right now and did a quick search to no avail.

I currently have Sonar 4 Producer, but thinking about Reaper over Sonar 6. Will I be able to use all the "extras" (Lexicon and other DSPs) from Sonar 4 with Reaper?

Thanks.

REAPER can handle DX and VST plugins. If Cakewalk choses to lock some of their plugins up for exclusive use, then no other app will be able to use them, but if the plugs are DX or VST compatible, REAPER can.

Exactly.

I'm switching from CubaseSE to Reaper and I get a couple of "This plugin can only be used with Cubase" notices when my VSTs scan - they are then ignored and everything else loads OK.

Just try it; you won't hurt anything....

Cool. I'll try that when I get my stuff back up and running.

for what it is worth, I have found the free plugs included with reaper to be pretty darn powerful. Initially I found myself really missing the sonar stuff, but within a month, I was dool with all the reaper plugs.

note, they are light on graphics and GUIs. Really stripped down...

But, they are for your ears, not your eyes, right?

Hit the reaper forum at www.reaper.fm The guys there are wicked helpful.

White Tie has been going kooky in the graphics lately, perhaps one of his skins will make it to the reaplugs

Here's his take on reacomp:
