Okay. Here goes...
I badly NEED to find a good MIDI reference book. I can sync just fine and I'm making okay music, but I am LOST when it comes to all of the control change #'s and binary/hexadecimal voodoo that ya'll do so well.
Please, oh , PLEASE help me out with this. I've sat with my MPC's manual, my Nord's manual, my MS2K's manual and can understand mot everything but this.
Thanks!

By the time you are reading/playing with hex etc. you are doing pretty advanced stuff. I have been using midi for 10+ years and have accomplished everything I wanted without going that deep. What is it you are trying to do?

Thanks for responding :)

Well, I love playing live. It's a thrill to control a lot of different synths/modules and make them sound the way you'd like. Thing is, I'm not an octopus. It's tough to work a mixer, drop a new track in and mute another all right after I have both hands working a filtered drum roll on my MPC.
I figure that control changes are the way to go (in order to sequence JUST enough to free my hands for the mixer and keys). My problem is that the MIDI implementation charts make absolutely no sense to me.
Am I doomed to endless loops or is there a light at the end of my tunnel?

Hey, relax, it's only been two days...

Some of my more obscure questions never get answered... ;)

I have a couple I've seen that I think are good and should be able to explain all the mumbo-jumbo...

Thanks, I'll check those out. I'v looked at a couple of books already and have just come away feeling more confused. I get frustrated and start playing again... Hey, maybe that's not such a bad thing after all :)

Hey, what's up there with my post getting partly displayed once, then the whole thing? Never seen that before...
