I've done some looking and can't find the answer to this question. Maybe it's basic, I dunno.

If I want to run one keyboard controller and trigger two different modules at different times how would I do this? The only thing I can think of would be putting them on seperate channels, and turning one modules output down/off when not in use. Is there an easier way to do this?

i.e.
Keyboard controller -> EMU PROformance piano module ->(MIDI THRU) to Alesis micron. If I want a piano on one song, then a synth on another do I just have to turn the Alesis down when I want piano, and turn the EMU down when I want synth? Thanks.

You should be able to just switch MIDI channels on the controller and leave the level controls set where you want them.

HMMMMMMM
I don't have any of it yet. Well, I have the alesis, but....I'm just trying to figure out if I want to persue this. Thank you for the feedback.

I find it helpful to download the manuals for gear before I buy it so I can plan ahead and see if it does what I'm wanting to do.

I've never heard of this before. I ran a google search and it sounds like just a sub mixer. Fade up one module when you want it, fade it down when you don't. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks for all the help you all give.

Any mixer that will take a line level input is the same thing. The key thing is a mute button i believe

The Tascam MM-1 is a decent one if you have a lot of keyboards and/or synth modules.

A Mackie 1202 or 1402 will work just fine. The stereo inputs are handy for keys, and the mono channels for monosynths.
