I have a mixer I want to run into my computer. The computer is old and the soundcard blows. All I need is a way to get the single, stereo line from the mixer into the computer with decent sound. It would also be nice if the same device could also spit the sound back out again for playback.
I know there's a ton of converters to do this but I don't need anything too fancy. Like I said, one line in and one line out would be fine.
I was looking at this:

It seems pretty straight forward and by itself is only $100.00. Is USB OK? Any suggestions? Thanks.
Or how about this one?:http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?item=GT-POWERWAVE&type=store

you can get something like the M-Audio Audiophile, but what you put in won't be what you get out. The difference between first generation recordings and the original probably isn't even noticeable unless A/Bed but there is a difference....
