I am new to recording and will start soon recording classical chamber music sessions (for demo purposes only). I have a Edirol R-44 and 4 condenser mics.
I do not plan to do live mixing, but rather will export the four separate audio files to a PC. My question is: what is a reasonable choice for a software program that basically allows for mixing the four signals into a stereo file to burn a CD.
I have very little use of all type of effects given the type of music. Balancing the individually recorded instruments is the main topic, and adding some reverb when needed is just one of the few extras that I would need. There is a bewildering array of audio processing software, but most are way beyond my needs (and finance!). Many thanks for your advice.
