I'm on a break right now from taping the drywall in my studio space. The live room is 24x16 and the control room is 12x12. It has a 14' vaulted ceiling in the live room with a loft at 8' which is open air for added reverb, but also has an iso booth for amps. There is also a vocal booth up top. Double drywall, sheet block, 703 and auralex for tuning. also about 80,000 in equipment and instruments. I'll have pics soon.

and the control room is 12x12.
  In that case, 80,000 in equipment won't help. ;) Was this an existing room or did you specify the dimensions. I hope it isn't a 12' cieling too.

It's a prexisting room. It's the best I Can do for my house. The ceilings are 8' inthe control room, It is being chopped up with bass traps and such.

I would seriously consider adding a storage closet along one wall so that the room was not square rather than fighting the accoustics of a square room

not "square"

I forgot to mention that it has a 3'x3' closed space in it. The washer and dryer are also getting closed in for a 3'x6' wierd shape.

...

Not sure if that's good or bad. Didn't even know the site existed, do you spend much time there/is it worth my time? I'm a recent grad from Berklee College of music and am looking for other pro studio guys to chat with. I like this site for the home stuff, but I am also putting together a very large studio, most likely in Franklin Tenn. that I'd like input on.
