I need to set up a DJ studio to produce a syndicated program from home. Of course, equipment folks are trying to sell me a Roland Boss 1180 and some other stuff that I really don't think I need. I think all I need is a good quality board that I can plug in couple of cd players, a cassette, 2 mics, and record to (whatever source is best) then to cd and be able to duplicate cds. I need broadcast quality sound. I have run boards for years but never paid attention to brands, etc. What would you suggest?

Budget is variable. Naturally I want the cleanest sound I can get but I don't need a lot of fancy extras. There won't be any mixing and I don't need a lot of tracks. I've been doing this show for so long I can knock it out without doing any mixing or editing. I am just suddenly without a studio and have to put something together fast to get the show out to subscribing stations. I was recording the show, as I did it live, at my local AM station but it sold and moved. The equipment there was old but sounded good. Since I was doing the show live I was recording onto VHS and made my cds from there but I'm sure there must be a better way to do that as well. I used that equipment for quite a few years and am definitely out of my "comfort zone" looking at new equipment. Even the Newbies on this board are so far ahead of me I was hesitant to ask but "nothing ventured, nothing gained" and when you want the right answer you go to the folks that know.
