I know these recordings aren't the finest of sorts but lets just say me and my guys worked on almost literally no budget, hand me down equipment, and unusual ways of getting the sound we achieved per sound let alone all them as a demo. Even so, with the very little experience at home recording, we are proud of our work more so than the actual sound but please comment on both! Thanks!

This actually sounds pretty good, for what it is. The drums are distorting a bit when he really lays into them, like during fills and whatnot. I do really like all the individual sounds you've got here, though there needs to be a bit more sonic separation EQ-wise. The bass guitar needs a little contour I would say (play with the low-mid frequencies until it sounds a little smoother and gives the guitar more space to breathe. The clean guitars sound fantastic, but the distorted rhythm guitar is kinda bad. That's the only instrument sound I really dislike here. Was this done track by track or is it live off the floor?

BTW, you are all really good at your instruments and the songs are pretty decent. Good work there.

Most of these were all done live on one track using Audacity. We ran the bass through either a combo or the PA (my amp messed up halfway through the recordings) and ran the guitar through his pedal to the mixer which was hooked to the PA. I believe we only had 4 mics on the drums and unfortunately ( and as you can tell ) we could only afford dynamic mics for most the part. This was run into our computer.

For Jamfest and Follow Me, we had the guitar amp mic'd instead of running through the pedal. The bass was recorded with a line out from the amp.

All the ones listed above were recorded in the same room which was fairly small. We didn't use any sound absorbing techniques and could of done a way better job on the drum mics.

Super Nintendo Jam is actually one of very first recordings and we did it track by track using only a mac to record the drums live. Then we did tracks of guitar and bass using a line out from an amp.

I just listened to get what you want.

I think it is a pretty good composition. Your oh's need a little eq treatment.

The vocals are a little covered up during certain parts and the guitar seems a bit detached, (not a timing issue) it just isn't sitting right. Maybe try to pan it off to one side and bring down the volume a tad. Also, maybe record a different guitar part and pan that to the other side.

I think your drums sound pretty good, although the toms could use a bit of eq treatment.

Cheers,

personally, I'd prefer less snare drum and a little more room reverb to the drum sound as a whole

Thank you to all those who commented on some of our songs. The feedback is what we are looking for so we can try and achieve a better sound for all our songs.
