1/3 OCTAVE BANDED PINK NOISE .WAV TEST FILE

I am not being rude or anything, but I would be worried about downloading a file from an unknown source recommended by a new 1st poster.

Alan.

The link just goes to his website where you can listen to the file in a player as well as download it. Seems fine to me witz... the self-promotion thing aside.:thumbs up:

I am always a bit suss about just clicking on links, you know, collect your free gift voucher, claim your refund, register for your free Iphone, etc.

Alan.

Likewise.

I would not be brave enough to click on a first-time poster's link.

I'm more concerned that he's talking about EQing your playback system for a flat response using the pink noise files.

"By playing the above test .WAV FILE through your sound system, you can adjust your EQ controls such that all the noise bands produce nearly the same level as indicated on a SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL (SPL) meter. At this point your sound system will be calibrated for a FLAT FREQUENCY RESPONSE."

It would be nice if the Ignore feature didn't require going to the user's profile, selecting Ignore, confirming, getting redirected back to the user's profile (wtf?) and then having to navigate your way back to whatever it was you were looking at before.

I think this may be a 1 post self promotion look at my website type person?? Prove me wrong?

I just like to share solid technical advice and after I completed that .wav test file
I wanted to share it with everyone. I do like to promote my web sites which all are
public service themes with no money being requested to be sent to Nigeria.

I see in you post that you signed off by listing your website. No harm done.

regards
John DuBois

Glad you proved me wrong. By coming back you have proved you are not spamming your site which is good, but it is a little suspect when this type of thing turns up in a 1st post.

By the way you are allowed to list your web site as a signature thats fine, and you can set this up in your signature as well.

welcome
Alan.

Correct. Just don't make it overbearing or obtrusive like the graphic in the first post. A simple one-liner like Alan's works fine.

Yeah, not only is fixing room problems with eq not really going to work but there are better tools than this for analyzing the room in the first place.

And of course...using classic black and pink p0rn website colors makes it even cooler. :thumbs up:
