Hi everyone, nice to see you guys moving on to new Challenges and new songs ... I am still back in the Jan/Feb Challenge, which has turned into a quest: how do I move forward with the quality of the demos I can produce?

Anyway, does anybody on this songwriters forum have any experience or knowledge of what 'Band In A Box' can do from the perspective of producing song demos?

I am looking at investing in a 'starter pack' in the next couple of months! :)

I've used Band In A Box, and found it very difficult to use - I'd call it 'user-unfriendly'.

I much prefer using JamStudio.com at 5 bucks a month.

I used to use a very old version of BIAB and found it limiting. While I could type out the chord structure and select a style, it never gave me the feel for a song that I was looking for. So, I would never have used it for putting together a demo. As a songwriting tool, it might be useful, as a production tool it wasn't. But, like I said, that was a very old version and I'm sure things have changed.

Turns out my brother is well versed in BIAB and other PGMusic products. He wrote a few tutorials for them and is an active memebr on their forums. I've listened to a few demos from other people over there and some are impressive. I'm not sure if it is worth the price tag, though.

check out their forums and see what others are doing with it.

It's certainly worth it to me and I've used it to create song demos many times. The new BIAB 2009 and Real Band are both amazing to me. BIAB has come a long way.

Thanks for the replys guys.

Appreciated! :)
