Background hiss noise in a professional mic. Do i need a pre amp?

So it doesnt matter what the name of the cable is. Like xlr female to male or xlr male to female. Any part can be plugged in?

Nope. That's the same thing. Like Bobbsy said, it's a standard connection.
 
Put another way, mic cables aren't directional. It doesn't matter what order you say them, just that you have an XLR-F on one end and an XLR-M on the other.

The cables aren't directional but inputs and outs are!

The maudio mobile pre does have 48v phantom power supply so i guess it's the best deal for me..
 
First things first

First...what are you recording into...a DAW or into your computer. My DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATION Yamaha AW16g needs a pre-amp on 6 channels and if you are going to computer you will need a USB mic or a interface of some sort. I just need more information to give you good information. In the words of the movie "Jerry McGuire"... "HELP ME HELP YOU".;)

My recording on my mic is kinda heavy and not clear. Is it because i dont have an audio interface and i plugin my xlr mic into my pc's sound card?
